“The Jihad of Agha-ye-Rahimi” tells the story of a male university student intent on harassing his female American teacher during the Iranian Revolution. This story was originally published online in the Del Sol Review. This story is the seed of my novel, The Jihad of Angela Weston. The short story was also designated among the “Best of the Web” and appeared in eScene.

In “Charmed,” Arun, an Indian man who works in a tourist hotel in Shakawati, wants to get ahead in life by learning English and living in America. It is only when he decides to present a gift to a couple from Louisiana that he learns something far more important than a new language. The story received honorable mention in the Tiferet Journal Writing Contest. “Charmed” was published in the Bellevue Literary Review’s theme-based edition on memory.
